![]() ![]() ![]() Not to be confrontational, but I know what AoW4 defines as a race. ![]() So if we cut the form bonuses (as you said it is unrelated to culture) or that one unique gimmick (like bolstering defense) then the the barbarian culture shield unit and the indostrious culture shield unit is exactly the same. Compare the barbarian shield unit from the first vid and the Indostrious unit from the second vid and they have the same resistance defense and damage(the +1 damage for the the barbarian come from the strong body trait). Of course i can be wrong about this, but if this is not the reason then i really dont know why don't we have these differences between the cultural units of the same role. And if the player can easily bypass the designed unique aspects of a given culture then there is no point to create unique cultural units at all. If i can put a fast moving race into the Indostrious culture then my units become fast and armored, and with that i negated the downside of that culture and also pretty much destroyed the whole concept of it. This concept works only if the foundation of that faction (slow but heavily armored) is not easily changeable. Indostrious cultural units are more armored but slower, barbarians are faster/do more damage but have light armor ect. To make unique cultural units you have to set some kind of style or concept(gampelay wise) for that culture. ![]()
